    Personal Communication Passports Resources

Most of the Passports resources have now been moved to the Passports mini site

Find out more at the Communication Passports website

The CALL Centre also runs courses on creating Personal Communication Passports. You can find a list of this years on-site training courses here. Or Check out our innovative CPD Package available for delivery onsite in your school or by your local authority.

For the moment, we have the following downloads available.

Adobe Acrobat LogoPersonal Communication Passports is a presentation that was given on Passports at a SENSE Conference in 1997. You will need Adobe Acrobat in order to be able to view this file.

Adobe Acrobat LogoIntroduction to Passports gives a brief overview of Passports and the part they can play consulting and representing children with communication disabilities, to ensure consistent care

Finally, we have provided a full set of Passport Templates in PowerPoint and Acrobat to give you an idea of the kinds of information a passport should contain. They can be downloaded from the table below.

Microsoft PowerPoint LogoEach slide (Portrait A5 paper size) will be a page in your passport. You will need Microsoft PowerPoint in order to be able to view and edit this file. Make sure you choose the right file for your computer. If you really don’t know which version will work, then try the Combo file - but this will take much longer to download!

Adobe Acrobat LogoWe have also provided a version of the template in Adobe Acrobat format. You will not be able to edit this file but if you print it out as it is, it provides on paper a useful blank 'template' that you can then use to structure your thoughts and to and write Passports notes/ drafts into (or split up give to others in the Passports team to fill in - after face to face discussion, not instead of meeting and talking please!)

Click on the icons below to download the file to your computer. (As a rough guide 1000Kb may take up to 3-5 minutes to download over a modem)

Printing Two A5 pages per A4 Sheet

(Instructions are for PowerPoint 2003 on a PC running XP, so your system may vary from this, but hopefully you can follow the gist of it)

    1. Open your Passport in PowerPoint
    2. Go to the File Menu and select Page Setup...
    3. Make sure A4 paper is selected under “Slides sized for:”
    4. Under “Notes, Handouts and Outline” make sure paper is set to Landscape. (DON’T change the setting for Slides (which should always be set to Portrait), as all your pages will get rearranged!)
    5. Click OK
    6. Go to the File Menu and select Print...
    7. Under “Print What:” select ‘Handouts’
    8. In the “Handouts” box to the right choose “Slides per page:” to be ‘2’
    9. Make sure the “Scale to fit paper” box has a check in it
    10. If you want a narrow black border around each page, put a check in the “Frame Slides” box
    11. Click “OK” to Print.
