Post Acceptance Filtering

Post Acceptance Filtering comes into effect after an input has been accepted and any repeat filtering has finished. Its purpose is to ‘slow’ down the response of the switch by ignoring all further input for a certain time, called the post acceptance delay. Post Acceptance Filtering is useful where the user can press the switch without difficulty (so no Input Acceptance filtering is necessary) but cannot release it without immediately pressing a few more times.

People with physical impairments
Some users have difficulty releasing the switch without tremoring on it for a short time. In this case, the post acceptance delay should be increased until the unwanted effects of any unintentional switch presses (made after input has been accepted) are filtered out. A post acceptance delay of, say, 1 second might be sufficient for users who tremor on the switch for a short period after releasing it.
