Directed Scan Movement

Directed scanning allows the user to direct the highlighter movement freely in a number of directions to reach the desired item. Four switches are normally used to move the highlighter up, down, left, and right. Dwell selection or a fifth switch can be used to select the item.

The diagram below shows two of many possible routes to get from the red shoe tot the green ball.
