Group scanning is useful when:
- there are a large number of items in the selection set
- the items can be arranged in groups either by association (e.g. foods, drinks) or by their location on the screen
- the user can understand how to control the highlighter to first scan a group and then the item in the group
However, although Group scan is faster than Simple scan, it is more physically demanding as requires a greater number of switch activiations to select an item. |
