Column-Row - Scan directions

Column-Row scanning is often used for lists of words which are more readable if displayed in several columns and scanned from top to bottom - for this reason, most word prediction programs display columns of words. Where appropriate, readability may also be improved by arranging words in alphabetic order.

Some access software allow you to define the scan direction (e.g. rows scanned from bottom to top; items scanned from right to left).
